Thats to the Indian media. Bloody bunch of jokers. Have no comprehension of reality.

You guys are like the entertainers in the courts of the Maharajahs of yore, who belted out bullshit that the Rajah wanted to hear. There was no guarantee of authenticy or correctness.

Australia is not a racist country. Period. There are losers in every society and every country. They do not repesent the country or its ethos.

The media tends to make mockery of every institution - political, bureaucratic,... . I am dying to see the day when these dumbos will have their bottoms flogged with a wet cane.

India Shining

Despite the economic doom and gloom around, I have still been euphoric over the last few days. The starting point was of course the results of the General Elections in India. Wow!! There is so much that can be said about it. In one stroke, the 60% of the voting population of India (which arguably comprises of the rural and urban lower and middle class only) has rejected the Left, the small regional opportunistic pigs, caste and religion based vote banks and polled in economic progress and development.

The euphoria was converted into a standing ovation that the stock markets gave to the election results on Monday. Wow again!!

From my perch here in Melbourne, I have been more interested in the opinions of the rest of the world. That indeed is going to give shape to the money flows into the Indian markets and economy over the next few year.

Locally, the Sydney Morning Herald, was very optimistic on India. The Independent of UK shouted Watch out as India sprints ahead and looks set to surpass the UK in less than a decade.

The expectations are high. The opportunity is there. Loha hai garam. Maar do hathoda!!

Life is fun. Most of the time.

Those famous words - Life is like a box of chocolates. You don't know what you got until you open it.

Most of the times its the routine stuff though - the same Cadbury's Eclairs or Gems. Not that the routine stuff isn't sweet. It's just that the delight you get out of novelty is missing. Like those little ones that have some coffee, caramel or nut inside them.

I guess what makes them nice is their rarity. So lets enjoy the routine sweets until then next liqueur-filled one comes along.

Whats wrong?

Read the readers' comments at the end of this story. There are few things I have realized about Rediff readers. Most of them are educationally-challenged juveniles. This is just one example but most of the other stories have similar banter.

Coming to the point in the article, it fails me why we Indians are so sensitive to what the western world says about us or doesn't say about us. We are so passionate about geting to the Security Council. All we want is a seat at the high table. I wonder what we bring to the table. What value have we added at SAARC, ASEAN, G20, i don't know.

Is is just a case of super inflated egos?
